RTC highly recommends the following structured wiring
information be used during the construction process.

    - Run CAT5, CAT5e, or CAT6 with all RG6 wires. RTC's television service travels
throughout the house using CAT5, CAT5e, or CAT6)

    - Structured cabling is recommended with a patch panel in a closet /garage

    - Have a 110v (dedicated, NON-GFI) outlet near the outside of the home (in closet/garage)
on the same side as the electrical meter) for RTC’s battery backup device to be plugged in

    - All low voltage wiring needs to be a home run to the structured cabling panel

    - Run 5-6 CAT5, CAT5e, or CAT6 wires from the structured cabling panel to the outside
of the house to be plugged into RTC’s fiber to the home gateway.

    Common Questions:

What does it cost me (as a developer) when RTC provides FTTH to my community?
Nothing. RTC provides the FTTH infrastructure, electronics and labor to build
and maintain the network free of charge to the developer/builder.

What is the importance of Structured Wiring
and following the RTC provided installation layout?

If the developer/builder does not provide structured wiring at each residence the bandwidth potential of the fiber optics is negated. Structured wiring gives the end-user a system that supports different communications, security and multimedia technologies based on nationally recognized standards for the technology of today and tomorrow.
